Born the son of Swing Bandleader Jack Newman, Martin started writing songs on bass guitar and formed his first group aged 12. His song 'Mediterranean Lady' was published and released by Philips Records when he was 21. Since then he made three solo albums, worked with musicians from different cultures, explored his Swing/Jazz roots but he's always returned to electric and acoustic rock.
