After two years his music style transferred into Club music and at the moment he found his roots in Electro House and Techno. He got interested in electronic music after listening to the album ‘Equinox’ by Jean Michel Jarre. This opened up a whole new world for him. He started practicing mixing with belt drive turntables he received as a gift from his parents after graduating. Later on he was one of the first in his hometown with the original Technics SL 1200’s. By comparing his mixing tapes with the radio deejays he improved his own skills and became well known for his technique. By sending these tapes to the local deejays he was asked to be the guest DJ in the local clubs and radio shows. And for several years he was a resident DJ at a popular club. Nowadays he’s spinning around the country. In 2001 Martijn Kuilema also organized his own inexpensive successful party called ‘Destination Unknown’, because of dissatisfaction about the high prices of other raves. From 2003 until 2006 he was asked to be a member of the judge on three different DJ-contests. And in 2007 Martijn joined a Dutch DJ/producer collective called ‘Dutch Grooves’ founded and organized by famous Dutch deejays.
