Hailing from the southside of Milwaukee WI, in late 2002 Miguel Cruz, with a vast array of artistic influences decided to put together a band that could be an outlet for his artistic and experienced views in life. With an undecided view on who to choose for the bands drummer he added his brother Juan Cruz. and Martians on Rooftops was born(Mort) With little experience they slowly carved a unique style that has roots in Rock and Hispanic heritage. With this forged creativity they soon set out to let their voice be heard. In the fall of 2003 MORt played their first show and have since evolved musically with the additon of rhythm guitarist Dan Villanueva(Captain Dan) and bassist Benny Sarraga.
