Marten Kantus was born in Western-Germany in 1967. He is making music since the age of 13. Today, he is a professional multi-instrumentalist in the studio. His very unique instrumental music is realeased on CD since 2003. Marten Kantus lives in Berlin. He plays acoustic and electric guitars, celtic harp, clarinet, flute, bass, piano and keyboards, drums and percussion, mandolin, glockenspiel, xylophone, melodica... There are several influences in the music of Marten Kantus. First there is the German "Krautrock" and the progressive rock of the seventies, such as early Genesis, Pink Floyd or Mike Oldfield. Second there are the pioneers of electronic music such as Tangerine Dream, Klaus Schulze, and Jean-Michel Jarre. A third influence is classical music, especially the works of Beethoven, Richard Wagner, Johannes Brahms and, of course, the Moderns.
