Marlies Schuitemaker (26) is a name not quite unfamiliar in Holland. Although she has basically been singing since she was a baby her mayor breakthrough for the Dutch audience was realised through the Dutch pop Idols series, where she was voted fourth in 2004. Her appearance and her strong vocals gave her the image of a true rock artist, and soon the jury praised her for having the mysterious X-factor. Whatever the reason, through the programme she was offered the opportunity to do what she was born for. To sing, and to perform.
