Mark Lowndes has a creativity and passion inspired from the moment he first picked up a guitar at 16 that has been the root of his expression. It is this creativity and a compulsion for pure musical expression coupled with a heart-felt desire to impact people lives with his music that drives Mark. Mark's influences include: Stevie Wonder, John Mayer and Eric Benet among many others.... His sound is truly his own and Mark gig's regularly in Toowoomba, Gold Coast, Byron Bay and Brisbane. In 2007 Mark won the FretFest final for his age group and performed at a number of venues at Woodford Folk Festival to great response. Mark will be one of the head-lining acts for both the Mt Isa festival later in 2008 and Pasifika Festival at Brisbane Powerhouse in August. Mark won ACOUSTIC IN THE PARK '06, and was one of the headline acts for ICON Creative Summit at Roma Street Parklands in Dec '06 and '07. Mark has performed at a number of Brisbane's live music festivals and venues, including Fortitude Rising, Zillmere Multicultural Festival, Ric's Bar, The Fringe Bar and The Zoo. Mark loves to interact with his audience, with the ability to provide an intimate evening or rock the party. Mark has a wicked sense of humour and loves to reply to audience requests. Mark has a strong repertoire of original music but also has a range of over 250 covers, which he increases with new songs every week. With his guitar and stomp box, Mark is really a one-man show.
