Artist
Brazilian musician, lawyer, professor, journalist, communicator of radio and television, pianista and composer. Mario Albanese is a pianist with a classical background and an important Brazilian music researcher. Being also a journalist, had an active production of articles and reviews for several Brazilian newspapers, TV and Radio shows as well. With Cyro Pereira, which was his partner on most of his compositions, Mario Albanese invented the "Jequibau", an unique rhythm based on a 5/4 compass based and influenced by the Brazilian folklore. The Jequibau rhythm had a moment of glory in Europe and United States acclaimed by other musicians and specialized press. However, Jequibau never got popularity and it is a cult piece for any serious vinyl collectors around the word. http://www.jequibau.com.br/ User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
