Marie-Catherine Girod is a pianist, born in Peyrehorade , in the French department of Landes . Marie-Catherine Girod studied piano at the Conservatory of Bordeaux and the National Conservatory of Music and Dance in Paris where it enters the class of Jules Gentil. She subsequently worked with Paul Badura-Skoda and György Sebök . She is regularly invited to festivals in May of Bordeaux , La Roque d'Anthéron, Festival Estival de Paris, Chopin Festival de Bagatelle, the festival of Nohant , the festival of Husum in Germany , the festival Paley and his friends Moulin d'Ande ( Normandy ). She has given recitals in Europe and the United States (Festival of Richmond in Virginia ), training room and a soloist with various orchestras, including the Orchestra of Brittany with whom she recorded the Fantaisie for piano and orchestra by Paul The Flem . She frequently participates in concerts organized by Radio France in radio. An artist of passionate temperament, open and curious mind, she is equally at home in the great classical and romantic repertoire ( Weber , Chopin , Mendelssohn ,) with Ravel , Debussy and Dutilleux she loves to interpret. It is also found in a directory much rarer, contributing greatly to the rediscovery of some composers played. Among others, her recordings of works by Dupont , Emmanuel , Jolivet , Lourie or Samazeuilh are unanimously praised by critics, and earned her numerous awards.
