Over the course of her multifaceted career, Marie Gabrielle has been called "A one stop entertainment shop", has been voted "One of the Top New DIY Artists" by Performing Songwriter Magazine, and has managed to attract the attention of everyone from Wall Street executives to the Music Industry's most prestigious producers, session players and recording artists who all want to perform with her onstage as well as in the studio. Marie is no stranger to the World of Music. Born and raised in New York City on the Lower East side of Manhattan and the Bronx, she grew up exposed to many styles of music and rhythms ranging from R&B, Hip Hop & Classic Rock to Latin Jazz, Folk and Blues. As a child her mother used to put her old 45's in Marie's Christmas stockings! Some of her earliest influences were, Eric Clapton, Lucinda Williams, Stevie Ray Vaughn, B.B. King and Gladys Knight. While attending Hunter College during the late 80's where she studied Music and Theater, she began to establish herself in various club scenes in NYC and throughout the U.S. playing slide guitar and singing rhythmically to her well written and melodic tunes.
