Margot has been playing the piano since the age of 7, and when she was 16 she also began learning the clarinet, passing the top grades in both instruments before going on to study at the Royal College of Music in London. After graduating she began her career in the world of dance, playing for 2 years at the Royal Academy of Dance and going on to play for professional dancers, firstly in Manchester, England, for Northern Ballet Theatre for 6 years and then for the Frankfurt Ballet, Germany, for 19 years. As solo pianist with these companies Margot has played for many ballet performances in opera houses such as the magnificent Paris Opera, the Munich Opera, Monte Carlo, Sadler’s Wells in London, and San Francisco . During her time with the Frankfurt Ballet, she worked with William Forsythe, the renowned Director and Choreographer and his company of dynamic and exciting dancers. Margot has played for performances of Forsythe's masterpiece, the ballet “Artifact” for the past several years, and continues to perform it with The Royal Ballet of Flanders and the Bavarian State Ballet in Munich . She has also performed a shorter version of this ballet, “Artifact Suite”, for Scottish Ballet, Paris Opera Ballet, Monte Carlo Ballet and San Francisco Ballet. Margot also continues to play for children’s ballet classes in Ipswich, England, at DanceEast, which gives her much pleasure, as well as regularly playing for ballet exams.
