Marcin Józef Żebrowski (born around 1710, died probably on June 8, 1792) was a Polish composer , violinist and singer ( bass ) at the turn of the Baroque and Classicism. Alternative spelling of surnames: Ziebrowski, Żebro, Zebro and first names: Martino Giuseppe, Josepho, Melchiore, Ignatio, Carolo. He was probably educated abroad, as evidenced by the discovery of the autograph of Concerto grosso , dated 1748 in London , and his symphony and sonata published in Amsterdam. It is known that in 1748–1765 he was employed in the Jasna Góra ensemble as a secular musician and teacher. According to the accounting books from 1759–1762, his salary was one of the highest among the band's musicians, which proves the great recognition he enjoyed, as well as the comprehensive use of his skills. There is also an annotation about Żebrowski's high position as a teacher. From 1763 his salary began to decline sharply, which could be the reason for his abandonment of cooperation with the band in 1765; he took it up again for a few months in 1780 . In record books, Żebrowski is listed as Concert Majster, Noster in Claro Monte Częstochovien, Concertus Maestro, Virtuosus Dominus Martinus Zebrowski.
