Artist
At least two artists have used the name March of Dimes: 1. A Trinidadian calypsonian active in the 1950s. 2. Jonathan Moss: Vocals, Acoustic Guitar, Harmonica. Cat Firman: Piano, Organ, Synthesizers, Backing Vocals. Thomas Surman: Drums, Bass, Harmonica, Backing Vocals. Sean Murricane: Bass, ukulele. Gordon McKiernan: Electric and Acoustic Guitar,Backing Vocals. Robin Moss: Electric and Acoustic Guitar, Bass, Drums, Harmonica, Backing Vocals. To say this band came about due to a mystical meeting of stars, cosmos and/or minds would be a bit of a stretch. It came about because, back at the start of 2007 Jon really had some stuff to say, Robin really wanted to hit and pluck things, Tom has been there to support Robin and Jon from way back in the day so we knew we could count on him, and Cat, having never been in a band before relished the challenge. Robin and Jon were both on the same musical page and wanted to keep things pretty low key and acoustic while still being reasonably ballsy. We have also always appreciated a good melody and a good harmony so they were factors we knew would be present but at the same time we didn't want it to be airy and fairy, we wanted an edge...a bit of world weariness perhaps. Joining us recently are Sean on Bass, and Gordon who's playing the guitars for Rob as he's in Canada for the now. Our album, 'All Intents and Purposes' was released and is now in your favourite independent music shop (and if it's not get them to order it in from Hope H
