Marcelo Stuardo (born in 1978, Santiago de Chile) is a well-known percussionist and drummer is his country. He has been involved with music since he was a little boy by the influence of his self-taught drummer father and has been learning music since then. He has a high honor degree in Percussion at Universidad de Chile (one of the two most pretigious universities in Chile) and among his other achievements, he's part of the Chilean leading progressive metal band Matraz. Marcelo released a solo album, helped by FONDART (Chilean government's found for arts), named "Transición: Obras Chilenas Para Marimba y Vibráfono" (Transition: Chilean Works for Marimba and Vibes), featuring fellow musicians such as Diego Aburto (piano), Miguel Villafruela (alto sax), Maria José Opazo (marimba and vibes), Cirilo Vila (piano) and Alejandra Santa Cruz (contrabass). He is curretly teaching Percussion at Universidad de Chile and Universidad Católica de Temuco.
