Artist
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Marcelo Andrade began his musical story studying violin, piano, guitar and singing in the well-established choir "Canarinhos de Petrópolis". Moving to London in 1989, he added jazz violin, saxophone, flute and composition to his repertoire. Over his career so far he has recorded and performed with many artists such as Milton Nascimento & Corinne Bailey Rae and has co-led his own groups - amongst them; ‘London Latin Jazz Ensemble’, ‘Ohayo-Samba’, ‘Samburá’ and ‘Saravah Soul’. His latest album, to be released in July 2013, "African Tree”, marks a very exciting and personal place for Marcelo in his musical journey and it is a very special album indeed. In Kenya, Marcelo captured the talents of the unique musicians and singers from the Bombolulu Village in Mombasa. In Brazil, Geraldo Azevedo & Filó Machado feature amongst the many other beautiful musicians he recorded there. London yields the longest and most diverse artist list including: Kadialy Kouyate who delivers a beautiful vocal performance in his gorgeous Mandinka dialect fro
