The band MaraQya was founded in 2008 in Belgrade, Serbia. The idea was to bring something fresh to the Serbian music scene, music like: neo soul, soul, R&B, hip-hop. The sound of this band is, essentially, under the influence of jazz, funk, soul, hip-hop, reggae ... and it can be called a modern soul sound with contemporary themes and sensibility. It differs from contemporary R & B, because it has more "soul", has a deeper message and meaning, and equally valued musical segments, such as text, harmonic complex, emotion ... The band consists of musicians who grew up with soul, jazz, blues and hip hop music, and common interest and love for these music genres brought them together. It all started with the song "Kada Te Vidim" (When I See You). Since then the band has been working on their first album titled "Savršen Dan" (Perfect Day), which comes out in April 2011.
