There are at least three artists using the name Maranata. 1) A saxophone+electronics noise duo from Norway consisting of Dag Stiberg and Jon Wesseltoft. 2) A funk/jazz/library band from Uruguay. Released only a single self-titled album in Uruguay around the begin 70s. 3) A Christian Romanian band? Maranata are the duo of Dag Stiberg and Jon Wesseltoft. Blending harsh electronics and saxophone into an ear-melting noise assault, they have been a fixture of Oslo, Norway's underground scene for decades, often collaborating with Lasse Marhaug, with releases on labels such as Picadisk, [OHM] Records, New Forces and Abhorrent A.D.
