María Teresa Novelo Pavía, is a pianist, composer, teacher, arranger & orchestrator. She was born in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico and began her professional studies at the Escuela Superior de Artes de Yucatan in 2004, under the guidance of the mexican pianist Marielí Sosa Cáceres. María Teresa Novelo has taken part in workshops and master classes with Laura Sosa, Józef Olechowsky, Dimitri Dudin, Ana María Tradatti, Aaron Schorr, Duane Cochran, Misa Ito and Tonatiuh de la Sierra. She has been involved in teaching since 2005 and has also taken part in "Instrumenta Oaxaca" in its 2005 edition. Her debut piece for a label is called Mutaciones and can be found at the freely distributed mp3 compilation "+,-" (under the mexican label www.autopoiesis.com.mx). She has also premiered various pieces as a performer: "Ciclos" ("Cycles"), for solo piano, composed by Elías Puc; "Gapatipitopo", for solo piano, by Manuel Estrella; "El Espejo" ("The Mirror"), for flute and piano, by Elías Puc and "Frío" ("Cold"), by Cristian Morales.
