Manuel Monroy Chazarreta - songwriter, singer, composer and guitarist born in La Paz , Bolivia, September 18, 1961, he's better known for his monicker "El Papirri". Monroy started playing guitar by his seventh birthday, and began his career as singersongwriter in 1978. He's writen almost 200 songs so far. He comes from a family of musicians. His grandfather Andrés Chazarreta was an argentine folk pioneer, and his mother Ana Chazarreta a guitar concertist. His cousin Ramón Rocha Monroy is one of the best known bolivian authors. Papirri's presentations are true feasts of creativity, flowing through diferent moods, the celebration of emotion. His original songs build bridges of emotion and seal a true Bolivian sound. Monroy has achieved a moderated comercial success in his country and is highly regarded by fans and critics alike.
