Manoel Gomes is a Brazilian brega singer and songwriter. The musician gained notoriety in 2019 with the song "Caneta Azul", written by Manoel himself. He wrote the song based on a personal experience of frequently losing his pens at school. The song went viral and received interpretations from several artists in the music scene, such as Wesley Safadão and Simone Mendes. After the immediate success, Manoel started traveling around Brazil and performing in different states. At this time, the singer even stated that he intended to record his first album, with a completely authorial repertoire. However, in 2020, sudden fame coincided with the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil . In this scenario, the singer still managed to stand out with the promotion of lives. One of them even attracted more than 1.5 million viewers.
