about

Forming a band in the small coastal town of Sandefjord in southern Norway, is no walk in the park. Yet, Manatee Racket has grown from being an unknown local act, to playing at renowned Norwegian venues and festivals. Amongst these are Rockefeller, JohnDee and Mono in Oslo and Samfundet in Trondheim, as well as Slottsfjell-Festival and Quart. The band plays experimental and melodious indie rock, influenced a lot by recent acts from the British pop scene. Over time, the band has gained credit for giving intense and thrilling live shows with «Fast catchy indie rock songs delivered with an enthusiasm only young and talented acts can mangage», as a critic put it. Finally, Manatee Racket has taken the step of moving to the Norwegian capital, hoping to evolve further as a band. As a music journalist summed the band up: «Young, energetic and great entertainment. Everyone should look forward to see this band blossom.» User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
