Manami Matsumae (松前 真奈美, Matsumae Manami; born December 25, 1964, in Tokyo, Japan) is a Japanese video game music composer. She is known for her work with Capcom in the 1980s, where she composed music for titles such as "SonSon II," "Dynasty Wars," "U.N. Squadron," "Mercs," "Magic Sword," and "Carrier Air Wing." She is particularly recognized for composing the soundtrack to the original "Mega Man," including the "Game Start" jingle. During her time at Capcom, she was credited under her maiden name, Manami Gotoh (後藤 真奈美, Gotoh Manami), and often used the alias Chanchacorin. After leaving Capcom in 1990, Matsumae became a freelance composer. She worked on soundtracks for the "Derby Stallion" series, several Game Boy titles developed by Sunsoft, and other games including "The Adventures of Lolo," "Another Bible," "Daffy Duck: The Marvin Missions," "Jade Cocoon 2," and "Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors." She collaborated with her husband, musician Kimitaka Matsumae, on projects such as "Othello World" and "Jade Cocoon 2." Matsumae later contributed to the "Mega Man" series again through Inti Creates, participating as a guest arranger for album releases and working with other former Capcom composers on the Robot Master themes for "Mega Man 10." In 2014, she joined the Tokyo-based label Brave Wave, through which she contributed music to "Shovel Knight." In July 2015, it was announced that Matsumae would release her first original solo album as well
