Artist
early-mid 80s hard rock outfit with a Y&T style vocal from former Stallion fella Tony Robson & a suitcase full of twiddly widdly guitar solos. 'Neat records' put out one single 'Rock Me' though the B-side 'Rough 'n' Ready' was considered the stronger of the 2 tracks after the release. DOH!!! worked very hard playing some major shitholes up & down the country for door money but always believed hence major debts to messrs Marshall, Gibson & Pearl. lasted about 18mths until bassist Paul Kelly decided enuff was enuff & went on to do some stuff with Bill Steer prior to his Napalm Death/Carcass thing. Mammath continued for a short spell but that was that. lead guitarist & main twiddly guy James Rees continued with the hard rocking Preyer who have recently had their 1986 album 'Terminator' re-released. It aint not too bad...check it out. Kelly joined Liverpools 'Magic Carpets' playing on their Probe Plus released album 'Guided Naffi Missile' before heading off to Holland. To this day 'Rock Me' continues to appear on various comps eg: 'Neat singles volume 3', 'Essential Neat Singles, 'The Flame Burns on' & 'Lightnin' to the Nations' 25yrs of N.W.O.B.H.M.' to name but a few....tho that's probably it.
