Artist
In 1979, Malcolm formed the very influential Josef K in Edinburgh, Scotland. They were arguably the first of 4 groups to make up the legendary roster of Postcard Records. Although recording much more, Josek K officially released only 4 singles 1 album (The Only Fun In Town). At About the same time, Malcom also co-produced singles for Postcard stablemates, Aztec Camera & Orange Juice. Josek K split in 1981 whereupon Malcolm joined Orange Juice for their most successful period: the Rip It Up LP & Texas Fever mini-LP. In 1983, he left Orange Juice to join up with Roddy Frame & Aztec Camera to record and tour for their second album, Knife. He proceeded to do the same with other artists as well, namely Blancmange, Momus, Dave Graney (the Moodists), and Paul Haig (Josef K's lead vocalist). He released a number of solo recordings throughout the '90's, recorded with friends Steven Daly (ex-Orange Juice), Robert Vickers (ex-Go Betweens), and Spike Priggen (ex-Caroline Know), amongst others. Hopefully he will have more recordings available soon.
