Major Deluxe is a belgian band lead by Sébastien Carbonelle, former music reviewer. The band makes psychedelic pop music, with lots of arrangements and harmonies. Speaking about his work, Carbonelle likes to use the term "western pop disco folk". Their first album, Skyline Society (Tricatel, 2006) is freshly grooving under its acoustic and flourished mood, in the search of equilibrium between compositions and arrangements. From deep mellow soul to a shy and subtle disco sense, the squad lays a bed of no-folk layers in a hazy cloud of Talk Talk. Probably influenced by the kinds of Lambchop, High Llamas, Jim ORourke, Elliott Smith, Beatles, Stereolab or J.J. Cale, Major Deluxe reveals a unique sound, a huge sense of space and freedom, brings a feeling of pleasure and happiness. Their second album, "Something Ends Here", will be released in march 2009.
