Karimi [Mahmoud] (1306-1363/9/3 sh) (1927-1984 m) was a Persian singer born in Tehran, Iran. His father, Ebrahim Karimi, played the Violin and was an early inspiration. Karimi was a singer of Radif tradition and also played the Setar. He studied Persian singing and Radif under Abdollah Davami in 1330 (1951) and Setar under Irani Mojarad. Karimi taught Avaz (singing) in Iranian Institute of Music and The Music Conservatoire. Among his students are Parisa (Fatemeh Vaezi), Soheila Shahshahani, Afsaneh Rasaei, and Sousan Matloubi.
