Introducing Mahesa Utara, poster boy of up-and-coming influx of nu-breed producers and DJs from Indonesia. Hailing from Jakarta, the prodigal producer started fiddling with Cubase in 2007, Decided to become a DJ in the beginning of 2008, started producing and remixing electronic music by March, and by the end of that year, won a remix competition and received an Indonesian REDMA award for the “Best Remix of The Year”. All these are done before he even reaches 21! His love for music stems from a young age, learning to play drums at the age of 12, and immersed in Jazz and Funk by his parents, it was not surprising that becoming a music producer became his path in life. His brand of Dutch House, Fidget House, B-more and Electro productions have garnered early and continuous support from Diplo and Laidback Luke. His remix of “Are You Ready (Mahesa Utara Remix)” by fellow Indonesian rising star Angger Dimas, pretty much introduced Moombahton to the world when Seb Ingrosso played the track at Sensation 2010 NYE party in Germany, spearheading the then new sound. His other released remixes for the likes of Nicolas Strands, Tommie Sunshine, Acid Kids, Dillon Francis, and Diplo, not to mention his numerous bootlegs, has all been played in clubs all across Europe, US and of course Indonesia, by prominent DJs such as Swedish House Mafia, Diplo, Laidback Luke, Seb Ingrosso, Steve Angello, Bart B. More and Sidney Samson to name a few – always receiving the excitement they deserve. Fre
