Maddie Jones is a young singer-songwriter and guitarist from South Wales. On the 10th of November 2014, she releases her debut album, Vita Brevis. Vita Brevis was recorded in Cardiff in collaboration with esteemed producer Charlie Francis (previous credits include REM, Future of the Left and Sweet Baboo). Maddie's arrangements of her self-penned material feature her playing several instruments on the album (including guitars, synths, ukelele and clarinet) accompanied by a cast of friends and fellow musicians from Cardiff. Maddie has been mentored by acclaimed singer-songwriter Amy Wadge, who has co-written with Ed Sheeran and Lewis Watson amongst many others. Amy Wadge said: “Maddie’s unique voice and songwriting ability makes her a force to be reckoned with. She’s also a brilliant live performer and deserves a massive future”. Well known for her dynamic and captivating performances, Maddie won Cardiff’s Big Gig Competition in June 2013 and, in the same year, played at Sŵn Festival, Glastonbury and Brecon Jazz. Her previous gigs have included legendary venues such as Ronnie Scott’s, Bristol's Colston Hall and Cardiff’s Clwb Ifor Bach, and she has supported Stephen Fretwell, Jake Morley, and Caroline Harrison amongst others.
