“They appear to be highly funded…” -(misinformed) New Orleans music critic “They seem like a bunch of result-oriented poseurs to me…” - local New Orleans artist For the past three years, MACROSICK have incited these comments and others like them with their brash, unself-depricating approach to handling a scene. “I’m trying to romance you…taste the truth AND swallow the fiction, then you’ll begin to know us!” claims band patriarch Adam LaClave (also known on the street as ChuckFamous). Drawing upon their love for the indestructible sound of Bowie, Kraftwerk, Iggy, and other 70’s/early 80’s icons, MACROSICK music works within a notably experimental yet focused mode of sound and thought. Driven by raw soul, yet angular enough to never really be smooth, the music is based on hook and pulse. Songs are built on the combination of diagrams lain out by drums and bass, and then rigged out in vicious melodies and abstractions of the guitar, keys, and whatever else finds it’s way in. The idea is a centered, yet un-hinged excess of stimuli. See a building imploded. Then look as the ashes are used to construct something new. This is the creative and existent continuum of MACROSICK.
