Muddler is a Belgian (flemish) band that plays alternative Metal/rock. Their lyrics are in dutch. They call their genre Snøck because they state that they do not fit in the current genre categorisation. After a continuously changing line-up the current four piece came together in February 2015. Current members are: Maxim De Soomer (drums), Fons Vloebergs (Vocals & Lyrics), Ben Kovalewski (bass) and Joeri “Black Joe” Arras (guitar). After playing their old material with English lyrics for a few months they decided to do something new and unknown to them. While a lot of the bands in their country continued to play Rock/metal with English lyrics, they chose to sing in their own language. Musically they continued to play heavy, dark and sometimes sluggish music. Shortly hereafter, their first song ‘Brood & Spelen’ was followed by ‘Gruis’. Deliberately taking a more serious approach to the lyrical content than the dutch metal/rock parodies they try to show people that the Dutch language can equally well serve as English. They state: “ What language is better to express yourself than your mother tongue?”. In April 2017 they released their EP called “Snøck Epos” which combines their two digital singles.
