Monstertux was an indie band, formed in 2002 in the town of Leeuwarden, The Netherlands. Critics cited influences from Placebo, Sonic Youth and The Beatles.. The band played shows all over the Netherlands, including support slots for Marillion, Breed77, The Answer and singer songwriter Kevn Kinney. In 2007 they won the awards for 'Best Indie Rock Band' and 'Best Live Act' in their region of The Netherlands. Monstertux released one album: the well received The Alison Album (www.thealisonalbum.com). A couple of years after the release of their début album the band seemed to have vanished, but in 2012 it was announced that Monstertux had disbanded... only to continue as Garments.
