Seattle-native Monodrone was a one-man project determined to bend the standard conventions of music. Armed with only imagination and ambition, Monodrone crafted sonic landscapes which delved into the deepest and most unusual recesses of the mind. Although active for six years and over a dozen albums, only two were ever released: Wildfire in 2011, and Mare Novum in 2012. Following the release of Mare Novum, the project was officially dissolved, its creator citing a progression to new musical styles as the primary reason. 3. In a world full of pointless drivel passed off as art, and endless networks of studio clones, running solely off what is fashionable, hip and accessible, comes an artist that reminds us how expression through music can be executed without compromising yourself.
