Metropolie Trans. The first in a string of four mixed-media projects (Metropolie Trans - Nowy Lef - Lebensformer - Re:Form) - that comprise Goran Lišnjićs lifes work. Metropolie Trans was established in 1984, on the ashes of Lišnjićs avant-punk band Diskretni Šarm Buržoazije, and as its predecessor, it also operated from Osijek (Croatia). In four inspiring texts, Goran Lišnjić sets the ideological foundations of Metropolie Trans by determining its positions towards questions such as the production of culture in capitalism, the role of an artist in contemporary society as well as the role of media and technology. Although the principal preoccupation was with visual production, Metropolie Trans also made three cassette albums of music ranging from sequenced electronic music to ambiental collages. These include a collection of early works in Serija Ranih Radova (1985-1987), collection of mixes and edits titled Transformer (1989), a regular tape titled Numbers/Order (1990) as well as a four-way split titled The Cassette Played Poptones featuring Autopsia, NEP and Padot na Vizantija, that went with the second issue of a fanzine Sestra Wazelin that Goran Lišnjić edited. In 1990, Goran Lišnjić aborted all activities as Metropolie Trans, only to replace it with Nowy Lef.
