MC Steinberg is a "hip-hop rapper" from New Jersey. His first appearance came on The Best Show on WFMU with Tom Scharpling, where he premiered his first song, "My Parents Ain't Home (So It's Time To Partay)" which he performed from a public bathroom. He was involved an on-air "rap battle" with Ted Leo in 2006. He also began appearing on other shows, including The Jake and Jackie Show on FreeFM and NYCTV's New York Noise, where he told The Knife that they reminded him of the Insane Clown Posse in their first American interview, called ASCAP on Girl Talk, and joined The Shins. In 2007, MC Steinberg recieved a cease-and-desist from Tay Zonday for claiming to have written "Chocolate Rain" in a YouTube video. In 2009, a documentary was filmed about Steiney, entitled Steinjive: The MC Steinberg Motion Picture. In the film, he was beaten up by his landlord, he went on a peyote binge, and he was nearly ripped apart by angry fans expecting to see Morrissey. He currently lives in the parking lot of an abandoned Service Merchandise, where is is often bullied by construction workers.
