Michael Gira was in a group called Swans for many years, he was, in fact, the leader of this group, and he sang and played guitar in it. There were several side projects of Swans: The World of Skin (formerly Skin), The Body Lovers, and The Body Haters. When Swans died he did some solo stuff and also formed The Angels of Light. He also wrote a book called ‘The Consumer’. Dan Matz is a key member of Windsor For The Derby, which was signed to Gira’s label Young God Records for a time.
