Múspell is a small, black metal band from Reykjavik, Iceland formed in 1991. Their lyrics primarily focus on the Icelandic landscape, cold and unforgiving, as a metaphor for human emotions and experience. But also anger, frustration, war, and a harkening back to heathen times. The style of the music is most similar to primitivist black metal bands in Europe with a noted influence of death metal. The band produced three demos in 2000, 2001, and 2002, with a later full length release planned, but never surfaced. Since 2004 the band has not been heard from, and little is known since then.
