M Slago has built a reputation for fine deli-sliced samples, body moving basslines, and intergalactic melodies. With an affinity for all things soulful and funky, he looks to the greats for musical wisdom. His inspirations include artists like, Billy Paul, Curtis Mayfield, Pete Rock, DJ Scratch, J Dilla, and Madlib just to name a few. Chris Jones, born February 16, 1984 was raised in Nashville, TN. Then known as Mongo Slade, he began making beats for local production teams such as Kastle Bangout and GNB Productions. In 2006 he decided to move to Dallas to explore the possibilities of hip hop in a bigger city. Once in TX, he quickly made a name for himself in the hip hop community as the resident producer rubbing elbows with Dallas’ best talent. It was at Rob Viktum’s Beat Down Dallas, Dallas’ first long-standing producer showcase, that he met the legendary EZ Eddie D, and shortly thereafter became the co-host for EZ Eddie D’s “Knowledge Dropped, Lessons Taught”, Dallas’ only radio show dedicated to hip hop in the Dallas/Ft Worth metroplex.
