"Radio 1 would do a lot better to play this than some of the drivel the millionaire bands have recently served up to the eager masses." Luna Riot emerge from a saturated scene in London with a refreshing take on radio friendly rock. Title track 'Mirrors' opens with acoustic guitar which has electric undertones rushing through it that soon gush out into an Audioslave type battering chorus. The vocals are more in tune with the grunge era, they are murky yet clearly sung and really fit well around the music. All the songs on this debut 'Mirrors' are clean and crisply produced; each instrument has it's place around the vocals which are quite captivating. The lyrics are laced with catchy prose that will have their songs ingrained in your head after even just on listen. The second track 'Over and Over' once again shows that Luna Riot are not a band who are scared to write a catchy song. This song is better than most of the recent efforts put out by the big stadium rockers such as the Foo Fighters, U2 and the Red Hot Chili Peppers and it's not even the strongest this debut has to offer. Mirrors is not a record filled with simple riff chorus repeat template that is often found with this kind of music.
