Lumï is: Loeki Jeuken, vocals/keys Claudia Verbakel, vocals/keys Siebe Jerks, keys Jim Vergauwe, guitar The duo — both trained vocalists — had already caught attention online with a string of intimate covers, their harmonies resonating with hundreds of thousands of listeners. The response was impossible to ignore. That momentum carried them to an unexpected collaboration with Portuguese singer-songwriter MARO. The experience planted a seed. Perhaps, it was time to create something of their own. There was only one catch — Loeki and Claudia had never written their own songs. So they did what artists often do when inspiration strikes: they shut themselves away in a room. Two weeks later, they emerged with a pile of original material — songs that finally felt like them.
