Twilight Waltz is the debut solo record from acclaimed Minneapolis singer-songwriter Luke Zimmerman set to be released December 2, 2005. A talented wordsmith, Zimmerman has been compared to some of popular music’s most enduring and venerated artists. Seamlessly blending country, jazz and rock, Twilight Waltz marks a leap forward in the 27- year old’s artistic development. With overtones that ache of deserted fields and industrial back roads, the record coherently straddles the lines between heartache and longing, disappointment and optimism, harmony and disharmony. Born and raised around Minneapolis, Minnesota, Zimmerman was reared on music. A classical pianist in his early days, he soon became more interested in drawing and painting than music, graduating college with a degree in Studio Art. Soon after, Zimmerman co-founded The Crow River Band. Co-produced by Randy Casey, who also contributed lead guitar tracks, and released in January 2003, The Crow River Band’s self-titled album contained a mix of late-60’s Europop, country, alt-country and blues-rock, all tied together with Zimmerman’s facile wit, intelligent rambling, and heart-on-your-sleeve realism. In the summer of 2003, the band fell apart. Continuing to play shows as a duo with drummer Andy Hertel, Zimmerman wrote the songs that would become Twilight Waltz.
