Drawing comparisons to Feist, Emiliana Torrini and Björk, Lucia continues to spark interest in music circles around the world, earning her a place in the top 100 unsigned artists by Music Connection Magazine in the US. “Lucia is a disarming performer and intriguing live act thanks to her natural talent,” the magazine stated, “Iman shows obvious promise… she is someone to keep an eye on.” Lucia’s sophomore album “Tame the night” will be released November 2009. The culmination of two years of hard work, the album was funded thanks to the belief and support of 903 fans, through the crowd-funding concept Sellaband. $50,000 was raised to finance the album. Securing the Grammy-award winning producing talent of Malcolm Burn (Bob Dylan, Jeff Buckley, Rachael Yamagata, Daniel Lanois), “Tame the night” was recorded in upstate New York in his studio. “I wanted to make an introspective album that established my own sound. A sound that is intimate and visually evocative, yet within a pop structure,” Lucia explains. A stellar group of musicians contributed to the project: drummer Ethan Eubanks (Ivy, Norah Jones), trumpetist Dan Brantigan (Kaki King), violinist/arranger Kailin Yong and guitarist Mark Axiak. The record will be released through major online retailers, and Lucia will be touring the US and Europe to support its release. Lucia started playing classical piano as a young girl in Madrid’s Real Musical conservatory, and later started working as a session vocalist in some of th
