Lowball is a melancholy punk band based in Newark, DE. The bands current lineup consists of Gavin Hammond-Sanchez (guitar and vocals) , Juno Eloise (bass & vocals) , Hunter Duke (guitar) , Sean Williams (guitar, sometimes) and Mikey Davitt (drums). They are best known for their energetic live performances and their noisy, fast paced songs. The name ‘Lowball’ came from the bands drummer Mikey Davitt, who had a list of names if he were to ever join a band, with Lowball being one of the earliest names. The band formed in May 2025 after Sanchez responded to the now-defunct Newark DIY venue, Free Parking, who was hosting a final semester show and needed a band to join the lineup. Despite not having a band formed, Sanchez scouted local musicians and friends to join. Eloise and Sanchez were close friends in high school, they’ve also collaborated on songs under the name ‘looks of caution’. Despite not having much experience with playing bass, Eloise would join the group after Sanchez sent her a message at 5am asking to play. The original lineup consisted of Eloise, Sanchez, Davitt, Williams and guitarist Rider Nichol, who would leave the band shortly after their first show, along with Williams, who would move back to his hometown , but will play occasionally. Duke would join as a temporary replacement, but was made the bands permanent rhythm guitarist shortly after. The band is influenced by a variety of different bands and sounds from their local punk scene. Including Death By
