LOUIZ BANKS: Nepalese by family lineage , Born in Calcutta , Citizen of India . He is the man behind the lilting, haunting, musical score of the much talked about Mile Sur Mera Tumhara trilogy that made it big on the small screen. His inspiring melody for our most revered athletes, SPREAD THE LIGHT OF FREEDOM is remembered by all those who have heard the tune, even today. Louiz Banks (ala DAMBAR BAHADUR BUDAPRITHI…nepali name !!! ) is a versatile composer , jazz improviser, pianist and keyboard player who specializes in live acoustic and electronic performances covering all genres of music from popular to mainstream / modern progressive / World Music ,Contemporary jazz and Indo Jazz Fusion. It was in the 1970s that Louiz hit the scene by getting together a band in Calcutta with singer Pam Crain and saxophonist Braz Gonsalves and named it The Louiz Banks Brotherhood .This was the cutting edge Jazz and Pop band during that time. After hearing him play in Blue Fox ,in Calcutta, he was invited to Mumbai by RD BURMAN and Louiz became his favourite pianist . He played Piano and Keyboards with RD Burman ,Bappi Lahiri and Laxmikant Pyarelal in countless projects during that time . Soon he began doing his own background scores for many Bollywood films . Around 1984, he got on to electronic instruments seriously and began writing music for commercials and became the blue eyed boy of advertising .
