Cautionary folk tales and urban dystopia converge in the psychedelic reflections of Lost Leaders’ new release “The Perfect Lie.” Building on the melancholy country-rock of their debut “Lowdowners in Stereo,” “ The Perfect Lie” is a mercurial journey through an austere landscape, soaring high into synthesizer etherea while digging deep into earthy acoustic bedrock. You’ll have heard the two writer’s songs on Levon Helm’s two Grammy winning records “Dirt Farmer” & “Electric Dirt”, Ollabelle’s “Riverside Battle Songs” and its eponymous debut, as well as on “Dawson’s Creek,” MTV’s “Real World” and “The Young and the Restless”. Even before the 5 songs on this new E.P. are officially introduced (in March 2011), Lost Leaders are heading up to Levon Helm Studios in February to begin recording the next release.
