about

A new-wave/post-punk band formed in Santiago, Chile in the 1980s, when the country was under the military dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet, their lyrics are full of subversion and protest against the regime. Los Pinochet Boys' clandestine concerts were often broken up by the police, soon sparking to a youth movement in the capital. They nearly got a label deal - but refused to change their provocative name. Last performing during the successful campaign against Pinochet's referendum to stay in power in 1988, they left behind only a few brief cassette recordings, but their members went on to prominent musical careers.
