Los Mac's was one of the first Chilean rock bands, forming in Valparaíso in 1962 and notably known for writing the first Chilean psychedelic song of the sixties: "La Muerte de mi Hermano". The group was formed in 1962 in the district of Playa Ancha as a rock and roll songs cover band, gaining some exposure in the national radio stations. The surname of the brothers, David and Charles MacIver, gave its name to the group. After playing at festivals and universities in Buenos Aires, Argentina, they moved to Santiago, where they met the composer, arranger and singer Willy Morales, who shared the same musical interests and decides to join the group, which was later joined by drummer Eric Franklin. Morales was the son of an artist and had experience playing in a very popular rock and roll band of the time (Alan y sus Bates). Now with their own songs, Los Mac's begins a new era, which will mark the history of Chilean rock. Initial singles were recorded in 1965 under a deal with the record company RCA, which later released the album Go Go / 22, their first LP, in 1966, under the influences of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Shadows, and Bob Dylan. After the release of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles, they became so influenced by it that they began to experiment with drugs and psychedelic music, in their next album Kaleidoscope Men, in late 1967. That album is perhaps their most representative work, leaving a great legacy in the history of Chile
