Nominated for the Latin Grammy Awards in 2020 for best Cumbia/Vallenato album, Los Cumbia Stars are a group that performs Colombian tropical music and is the only new band of the tropical genre signed by the legendary record label Discos Fuentes. The group is made up of the singer Cristina Escamilla, one of the most important voices of the genre in the country, and seven musicians with extensive experience and recognized musical quality, among them the director, composer, guitarist and accordion player Juan Pablo Acosta. Their repertoire is 100% danceable and fuses unreleased songs from the group of their three record productions, with original arrangements by the great masters of Colombian tropical music such as Lucho Bermúdez, Rodolfo Aicardi, Los Corraleros de Majagual, Joe Arroyo, Fruko y sus Tesos. , among others.In their few years of experience, they have already performed more than 50 live performances, among which the following stand out: La Magdalena Fest, The 85th Anniversary of Discos Fuentes at the Pablo Tobón Uribe Theater, the Medellín Jazz Festival and the Ruta Colombia Festival of the Universidad de los Andes - Bogotá, Teatro Metropolitano 2021, in addition to invitations to international festivals in 2022.
