Look Outside Your Window (LOYW) is a side project of the band Slipknot. It emerged during the creation of the album All Hope Is Gone (2008), when members Jim Root (#4, guitar), Sid Wilson (#0, turntables), Shawn Crahan (#6, percussion) and Corey Taylor (#8, vocal) split off from the rest of the band to create music without any restrictions, guided solely by their own creativity. Songs like My Pain and ’Til We Die appeared on the albums We Are Not Your Kind (2019) and Deluxe Edition of All Hope Is Gone (2008), but they were originally part of the Look Outside Your Window material. Although Craig Jones (#5, keyboard/samples) and Paul Gray(#2, bass guitar) were not credited in the project creation, there is official footage on the DVD (sic)nesses (2010) in which both appear performing some of the songs from LOYW. Look Outside Your Window represents a more experimental and introspective side of Slipknot, showcasing a creativity that has always existed within the band but has rarely been given as much space as it is here.
