Lonsai Maïkov is the musical vehicle for French artist Thierry Jolif-Maikov, along with contributions from Mathieu Broquerie and several other collaborators over the years. Lonsai Maïkov have existed since 1992 and have consistently released dreary dark folk records, typically falling in the murky margins of the neofolk scene, with occasional experimental sides such as their collaboration with Bleiburg. Underneath the the atmosphere of mystery in the music, Thierry Jolif has expressed a deep connection with the Traditionalist school of philosophy and is most inspired by Eastern Orthodox Christianity.
