London Symphony Orchestra Brass is a subsidiary of the London Symphony Orchestra, the core players of which consist of the orchestra's brass and percussion sections. It has regularly worked as an ensemble since 1982, specialising in the unique brass and percussion arrangements prepared by its Music Director, Eric Crees. The ensemble has performed all over the world and recorded for compact disc, radio and television where it has been consistently praised for its extraordinary quality and versatility. Of particular importance in Britain are its regular concerts at the Barbican Centre in London as part of the London Symphony Orchestra's International Season. Imaginative programming involving top brass bands and the National Youth Brass band has reached a large and enthusiastic new audience, and the bringing together of musicians from different cultural backgrounds has broken down many pre-conceived artistic barriers and has challenged many old-fashioned concepts about the nature and performance of brass music.
