From the late-'50s era of Jamaican shuffle R&B and the subsequent ska boom, to the rocksteady and roots reggae of the late '60s and early '70s, Charmers made valuable contributions not only as a vocalist, but as a session musician and producer, as well. Known for explicit lyrics in songs such as Birth Control (Too Much Too Young by The Specials was based on this song) Bang Bang Lulu, Yum Yum Pussy to name a few. The Hippy Boys where formed in 1968 by Lloyd Charmers He also sang with “The Charmers”, founded by Roy Willis, and later joined “The Uniques” User-contributed text is available under the Creative Commons By-SA License; additional terms may apply.
